My only disappointment is that we running out of rooms to decorate!  I especially loved the design presentations when she brought all her ideas together for each room.  

She took the time to understand what we wanted to create, and then added her artistic flair to create a really fabulous room design, including all the accessories for a completely finished look.  For someone “accessory-challenged” like me, this is incredible time and frustration saver.

I would just like to take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful designer Kristy Nichols has been for my home and me.  The first project that I worked on with Kristy was to design a guest room out of an unused bedroom and then update my younger daughter's bedroom.  When I saw the presentation of what she planned to do for those rooms, I quickly expanded the project to include my older daughter's bedroom and the hall bathroom.  These rooms came out so beautifully that my master bedroom and bathroom looked cold and outdated by comparison.  Shortly after the first rooms were completed, I asked her to re-design those as well, so now my entire upstairs is finished and looks gorgeous!  I have had several guests, family members, and even contractors comment on how beautiful my home looks.  Needless to say, we have moved on to start working on the first floor of my home!

Kristy really listens to what you are looking for and observes how the room is used or how you envision it to be used when she does her designs.  She takes into account your taste, and can work with the pieces that you have, or completely start over.  All the rooms she has done for me have become much more inviting and useful.  I have some rooms in my home that are unique and challenging in their layout, but she has transformed all of them beyond my expectations.

Not only are Kristy's designs beautiful and unique, but also her service to her clients is unparalleled.  She always returns calls promptly, always greets you so cheerfully, and follows up on every detail.  So far, no problem has come up that he hasn't been able to solve with a workable and beautiful solution.  She consistently goes above and beyond compared to the service of anyone else that I have ever worked with on interior design.  She makes sure the room is set up and looks the way we both had envisioned it, down to the smallest detail.  I really appreciate that aspect of working with her, because that is not a skill or talent that I possess.  I want my home to be beautiful, and Kristy is helping me achieve that goal in ways I could never have imagined.

We had worked with Kristy on our previous home and loved the final product, so when we purchased our new house, we immediately asked for her help with the family room, living room, office, laundry, bath, and kitchen to get us settled in.  Originally, there was no flow to the house… no warmth, comfort, or design. The paint was disgusting, the window treatments were cheap, and the whole feel was just disheartening.

Kristy begins by asking what you’re looking for, in terms of style, and price, and quality.  She really LISTENS to what you want, and explains everything clearly.  The whole process from beginning to end was exciting and fun.  We couldn’t wait to see what she designed for each room!  When it came to remodeling, her contractor is excellent.

Our house now feels like a home.  We wanted warm, welcoming, and comfortable, and we got exactly that!  I love the look and feel of every room.  Would we hire her again? Unequivocally YES!  The experience is beyond words.  She is a wonderful designer who truly loves what she does.

My husband and I built our home 20+ years ago, and have been busy living our lives, raising our son, and working, without any thoughts as to our home's decorating.  One day we stopped to look around and realized we had a mix of furniture in all our rooms... old, antique, mismatched, and boring.  Neither one of us has an eye for style or design, and we knew we desperately needed help.  That's when we met Kristy Nichols, who has changed everything for us!

One of the first things Kristy did was to ask about our lifestyle, interests, hobbies, and what we were hoping to achieve in redecorating our home.  She came to our home, took pictures and measurements, and started her extraordinary design process in motion.  We met again shortly after, where she showed us incredibly detailed hand drawings of her design suggestions, as well as computer generated floor plans for each of our rooms.  She even incorporated the pieces of furniture etc. of our own that we wanted to keep in the new design.  She had laid out fabrics, paints, furniture - everything, so that we could "see" exactly what her proposal would look like.  She had listened to everything and understood exactly what we were "trying" to say - and she stayed well within our budget.

We never imagined our home could be as beautiful as it is now.  Since Kristy has worked her design magic on our home, we are proud to have people over, to show it off.  We give her complete credit for everything, and never hesitate to tell everyone who sees our home that it is all thanks to Kristy, because we were not able to even imagine what she created for us.  Everything, down to the smallest floral arrangement is perfect!

Working with Kristy takes decorating to a whole new universe!

From the moment she put black chairs with a wood dining table, I knew that I was going to get a room beyond my personal imagination. However, the room is still me - it's my colors, it's my style. It fits my house and my lifestyle. It's simply been put together by a creative professional instead of - well, me!

Just last week, a friend dropped by to visit. As we sat and talked, she suddenly stopped and said, "This is such a welcoming room. It gives off such a warm vibe." That's exactly what I wanted and Kristy translated that perfectly to the room!

Working with Kristy is fun and easy. She works quickly and responds to requests pronto. She has an energy and passion for her work that will bring excitement to meetings.

I would recommend Kristy for any of your home decorating projects. She has done two rooms in my home. I'm saving money now and I can't wait to see what she does with my kitchen!

I began working with Kristy when my previous designer was relocated out of state.  This meant that Kristy had to walk into my project in the middle, and pick up a multitude of loose ends and decisions.  Kristy was able to get up to speed very quickly, and keep the project moving.  She did an outstanding job of understanding the look that I wanted, and providing excellent recommendations, to complete the remaining components of our project.

The end result is a space that meets all the objectives we set out to achieve.  The space is beautiful, but feels like home.  We use the space more, because we actually want to be in the room!  My favorite thing about the space is that it looks and feels like a haven, that has been acquired with cherished pieces over the course of many lifetimes.

Now that our kitchen project is finished, I want to once again thank you for the way you helped us create our dream and make it come true. 

We had postponed this project for years, in part because we did not trust that the result would be OUR kitchen and not some designers vision. Also, we actually still liked our kitchen but knew it was very dated and needed some conveniences as well. Then a friend recommended you and we saw what you achieved for her, and we knew we had found the right designer/creative partner for our project.

We appreciated how you listened to us and respected our view points - and our budget. You had fresh ideas that were within our concepts. Your sense of humor, positive energy, and creativity made this frightening project incredibly pleasant! And you patiently gave us time to decide - no pushing or rushing on these big decisions. Every time I look at the sparkling new countertop and tile, the warm wood cabinets, and brushed metal finishing touches, I see MY kitchen dream right before my eyes.

Although we have always received compliments on how "beautiful" and nice our home was, after visiting some friends' homes, where it was obvious they had worked with a designer, we felt our home didn't have the warm, welcoming feeling we desired.  We realized our formal living room wasn't very inviting... it was referred to as "the museum" by our son's friends!  While after 42 years of marriage we were accustomed to our style and it worked for us, we decided we wanted something different, and thought we would like to see what a designer would do with our home.

Kristy was referred us by a home decor store that we frequented, and after viewing her website and reading the testimonials, we set up an appointment to meet her.  We knew she was the one by her up-beat, high energy style.  She was willing to work with us to incorporate family heirlooms, and items of sentimental value, which we really wanted to use and display.  In her presentation, she made what we felt at the time were drastic recommendations!  From paint colors to wallpaper to furniture pieces, they were ideas that we had never envisioned.

She had us swap out and rearrange pieces we had thought were beautiful as they were, and suggested colors that we would never, ever have considered on our own.  All the while, she was incorporating those personal items we wanted to use.  She was very accommodating and understanding when we had to make a slight change due to the fact we could not stand anything plaid.  She was able to work around our little quirk, and made it all come together.

We couldn't be more pleased with the results.  Our home now has the warm feeling we desired.  The way she tied everything together from light fixtures to wallpaper to placement of accessories and paintings has given our home a new life... and a warm feeling for our friends and family.  It is an absolute show piece.  As one neighbor put it, "It looks like something out of Architectural Digest!"  And it does. 

We would highly recommend Kristy to anyone wanting to do a makeover of their home.  Her talent and knowledge of design is amazing.  You won't be disappointed.

We worked with Kristy to redesign our living room/dining room. 

We were faced with a cramped space and too much clutter, yet we also wanted multiple uses out of that space.  We knew the feeling that we wanted to end up with, we just didn’t know how to get there.

Kristy did an excellent job of listening to our wants and tastes and translating them to a room with flow, beauty, and style that met all of our demands.  She had a vision of how to create extra seating in a space where we thought it could not be done.

Kristy is extremely talented, and has a terrific eye for color, space, furniture, and details. We couldn’t be happier, and plan on working with her on our next design project.

When we moved into our house, we were immediately overwhelmed by where to place the furniture.  We had just purchased a baby grand piano, and although we knew it would fit in the living room, we hadn't realized that it would swallow all of the other furniture! 

We contacted Kristy in the hopes that she could help us, but we weren't convinced she could make much difference.  She not only pleasantly surprised us, but amazed us by how much difference furniture placement and color can have on our daily lives.  The cohesive design between the dining room and living room allows the space to serve as a recital hall, as well as a comfortable, stylish place to entertain visitors. 

We were hooked and have asked for Kristy’s input on a variety of rooms, wall color projects, and accessory placements.  Her high energy and willingness to work within the confines of a tight budget, existing furniture, family antiques and accessories that we can’t live without prove to us over and over that she truly makes a significant contribution to the enjoyment of our home.  We find her knowledgeable and very thoughtful as to the function of the space with creative use of color and fabric making the spaces speak to our personalities.

When I met Kristy, I had just moved into my apartment and needed to furnish it.  I told her I was looking for some living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture.  She asked me to give her the rough dimensions of the rooms, and immediately began drawing layout possibilities for the design of my living room.  I was amazed. 

Upon her arrival in my home, she took the measurements of my space, and we sat and talked for a while so she could get to know me and what style fit my personality.  I gave her carte blanche, and told her that I wanted a space that people would walk into and say, “WOW, this is fabulous.”

I took my mother with me to view her completed design.  We were both floored.  As we looked at her staging of the furniture, artwork, accent pieces, and window treatments, we could say nothing but “WOW!” with our mouths wide open.  It was simply gorgeous.  Each of the pieces complimented the next.  

She assured me there would be no other rooms like mine – it was my own, personal design, and she did a fantastic job of capturing my personality.  I was hooked.  I had to have it.

Upon delivery of the furniture, Kristy came to my house to ensure that each piece was properly placed, even overseeing the installation of the window treatments.  I started with the living and dining room space, and she did such a fantastic job, I returned to her for the bedroom.  She did it again.  Again, Kristy gave my room “the WOW factor.”

Before working with Kristy, my spaces were just… livable.  Now, they look amazing, and make me feel great.  During the process, Kristy made me extremely comfortable, and over the course of designing my three rooms, we became the best of friends.

I would highly recommend Kristy to a friend.  I can’t say enough how amazing she is at designing spaces.  The only way for you to know is to actually give her a chance and hire her.  I assure you that you will not be disappointed.  She’s fantastic!

She provided me with a detailed analysis of my entire home, which I now consider to be the bible for my home decor, and carry with me at all times so that I can complete the projects at my own pace!  I started with the bedroom and foyer paint, and I love the colors so much, I almost don't want to put the pictures back up!

When we were ready to design our kitchen, we hired a decorator because we wanted professional help in managing the project and bringing us the ideas.  We chose Kristy because we had worked with her before on two smaller projects, so we already had a rapport and had enjoyed working with her.

Before our redesign the kitchen had a lot of wood in it.  I wouldn’t say it was completely outdated, and the function was okay, but I was ready to do something else with it.  Actually, I would say that I didn’t notice how the function wasn’t great until we redid it, and it became superb. 

Now I LOVE my kitchen!!!  It is very bright with light colored granite and white cabinets with distressed edges.  We added an island, which I really feel has changed our life in our kitchen.  We are always hanging out at it, eating there, and prepping food.  The function is perfect.  The dishwasher is right by the plates and silverware, the garbage is in the perfect spot, and the appliances are all in the right areas.  We also added a work station which we are very much enjoying. 

We love the kitchen, and are really glad that we redid it.  I love how everything is bright and cheery.  A minor love is the two-tiered silverware drawer (that’s great).  I love how I can grab my plates right out of the cabinet, and they are on the island in two seconds.  Another silly thing that I never had before was a garbage / recycling bin in my kitchen.  It’s a simple thing, but it makes life very easy.  We also love having a pantry in our kitchen versus in our hallway, where it was before.  The function of everything is amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Kristy.  She has a very enthusiastic attitude regarding designing.  She is also very flexible, and works with the style of her clients.  For example, if there was something that we didn’t like, she offered us other choices and wanted to please us.  She didn’t try to push her design choice on us.  We felt very comfortable saying if we liked or didn’t like something.  Kristy was also very timely in keeping the project on track.  She also headed up all the little details so we didn’t have to call anyone, make appointments, etc.  That was great for us, because we’re too busy for those things. 

I loved working with Kristy, and hope to work with her again on projects in the future. The design process was excellent.  We talked with Kristy, and told her our vision for various things that we wanted.  She then designed everything for us and showed it to us, giving us just enough choices… not too many, not too few.  She also kept everything on track, making appointments, hiring contractors, etc.  I felt like it was very simple, and I didn’t feel like I had to do too much besides just say, “Yes, I like that,” or “No, I don’t like that.”  It was exactly what I wanted my designer to do: handle the designing and project while I just looked forward to the final product!

I would absolutely recommend Kristy to anyone interested in designing / redesigning anything in their house!

When we finally decided that we needed to remodel our kitchen, it was very overwhelming… so many choices to make!  When I met Kristy for the first time, I knew she was someone that I could work with, and who could guide me in the right direction to avoid mistakes.

Before the redesign, well, the kitchen was orange:  orange oak cabinets, orange oak flooring, and faux finished orange paint job.  The kitchen functioned well for cooking, but it was never a place you wanted to be.  It didn’t reflect our personalities, or our busy family lifestyle.  Now, our kitchen is my favorite place to be.  I love preparing meals for my family here, and enjoying them in the space.   The floor plan didn’t require many functional changes, but the look and feel  are so different that it is hard to believe it is the same space!  Small changes to the cabinetry have provided so much more storage, and the whole family can be working in the space without stepping all over each other.  I can be making the meal while the dishwasher is unloaded and the table is set.  Simply repositioning the table and lighting has allowed for more breathing room.

I am thrilled with my new space, and I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to have this beautiful kitchen in my home.  If I had to pick my favorite feature, it would have to be the backsplash tile.  The moment that Kristy showed it to us, I knew it was the one.  It ties everything together beautifully.  I also appreciate that my kitchen is unique.  It certainly doesn’t look like any other kitchen that I’ve seen before.  It feels modern and yet classic at the same time.  I can’t imagine growing tired of it, and I think it will be timeless.

Kristy has two great strengths as a designer:  her creativity and her communication skills.  When faced with design challenges, she was always able to pull things together visually.  Although she wanted our input, she didn’t make us struggle to figure it out on our own.  With a big project like a kitchen, Kristy needed to be so much more than someone who could create a design on paper.  Her excellent communication skills helped resolve the problems that you will encounter in any kind of project.  There are so many people involved in a remodel, and it was reassuring that I could go to Kristy with a question, and she would take care of it.

Every time I come home, I smile walking into my new kitchen, and I have already recommended Kristy to friends and family.
