As I was going through the ads in this week’s Sunday paper, I came across these dressers in the Target (pronounced tar-ZHAY) flyer. They start at $49 for the nightstand, to a whopping $124 for the dresser.
I was immediately struck by their similarity to other dressers that I know and love, like these from West Elm, which are priced from $249 – $699.

Or this one, from Ethan Allen, which is $1649.

Knock-offs sure are getting better these days!
Am I saying the Target pieces are on par with the Ethan Allen ones? Well of course not. We all know you get what you pay for. But let’s face it… sometimes the funds to invest in top quality just aren’t there. Or sometimes, where a piece will be placed doesn’t warrant the NEED for top quality. That’s no reason your home can’t still be beautiful, comfortable, and functional.
1. Always buy the best you can afford.
2. It’s not about the size of your budget, it’s what you do with what you’ve got.
